It seems that many of us have played the part of the prodigal son at one time or another throughout our lives. The key is recognizing that we have landed ourselves in the pigpen of life, and desiring to fix the problem. This is oftentimes a painful process because God has to break our will in order for us to get out of our self-made pigpen. If we will only humble ourselves, God will restore us and fill the emptiness that we seek to fill with the things of this world. Many great lessons can be learned through this one story of the prodigal son and his father.
