This is oftentimes a painful process because God has to break our will in order for us to get out of our self-made pigpen. If we will only humble ourselves, God will restore us and fill the emptiness that we seek to fill with the things of this world. The New Testament Church began in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. The example of what the purpose of the church is to be, is laid out in the book of Acts. The church should preach the Word of God, purpose to get people to God, prove that God changes lives, and praise God in all things. If we are not fulfilling the purpose, we are not meeting the need.
