Attending Churches | Baptist Snow Camp 2009

Baptist Snow CampWhether this is your first experience bringing your youth department to Baptist Snow Camp or your group is considered an old veteran, we want to make sure that you have an enjoyable time at our camp.  This article is for you, the leadership.

Baptist Snow Camp has been held in the same location since its inception.  This camp ground has proven itself year after year to be the ideal location for this type of camp.  There has almost never been a year without snow, having snow 13 out of our 14 years, and it would be difficult to run a snow camp without that!  The address of the camp is Bethany Baptist Camp, 1633 Bates Road (Route 64) Sinclairville, NY 14782.  The phone number for the camp ground is (716) 287-2848.  Those seeking directions may click here.

BSC has been designed to reach a specific group of people, those from ages ranging 13-18 or 7th-12th grade.  These teenagers are our next generation, and if we do nothing to reach them now, our future is bleak at best.  It is up to us to teach and train these young people to serve God now, so in turn, they will serve God when they reach adulthood.

Registration for BSC will be from 10-11am on December 28th.  You will need to bring with you a registration slip for each camper, completed by their parent or guardian.  Also needed at the time of registration is the balance due from your group, which would be the total amount due minus any deposit that was sent in ahead of time.

At the time of registration you will be given the opportunity to sign your teens up for a few activities.  We offer Timothy & Titus Time, which is for teen guys who would like the chance to preach.  This experience is one great way to keep our young men focused on serving God.  Their sermons should be 3 minutes in length.  We also will have a signup sheet for any church that would like to do a music special during one of our services.

The skit competition is always an enjoyable experience whether you are the ones involved in the skit or the ones watching it.  We would love to have your teens participate in this activity.  The skit should be 7 minutes or less in length and can be funny, serious or a mixture of the two.

Our Bible quiz this year will be taken from John chapters 4-6.  The written quiz will be given on the first day of camp.  We encourage all our campers to participate in this event.  The top scorers on the written quiz will go on to the next round and have the opportunity to win trophies and ribbons.

Just a word about our dress code, we believe the Bible, and as such, want to honor Him in our dress standards.  If you have not yet received one of our informative BSC letters in the mail, please contact us to request one.  The details of our dress code, along with other helpful information can be found in the mailings we send out periodically.

We have a great lineup of speakers for BSC this year.  Our speakers this year include Pastor Richard Mick from Sandusky, Ohio, Pastor Dan Wolvin from Columbus, Ohio, Brother Jim Krohn from Penfield, NY and Brother Jonathan Marshall from Toledo, Ohio.  All of these men have proven themselves faithful to the ministry and we believe they will have a great impact on the lives and hearts of your teenagers.

What we ask from you, their leaders, is a bit of sacrifice in order to allow God to reach them here by bringing them to BSC.  We acknowledge that many of you will be leaving your families right after the holidays but we also realize that there is a cause.  That cause is to mold and make strong young men and women that will serve God with their whole hearts.

We attended our first Baptist Snow Camp this year, what a blessing!! We were greatly encouraged by the messages from each preacher. We enjoyed the games and the food (the kitchen workers were AMAZING!!). The camp was held to a high standard without missing a beat and of course was still able to provide a high level of excitement for the teens! What a testimony of what God can do when we live for Him! Thank you sooo much!
