This is oftentimes a painful process because God has to break our will in order for us to get out of our self-made pigpen. If we will only humble ourselves, God will restore us and fill the emptiness that we seek to fill with the things of this world. Adversity is part of God's plan for your life, for without it, you will never be strengthened or have the ability to grow. God has a plan and a purpose in these times; He is in control and is always good. Through adversity, you will become something that you could not have become otherwise. The New Testament Church began in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. The example of what the purpose of the church is to be, is laid out in the book of Acts. The church should preach the Word of God, purpose to get people to God, prove that God changes lives, and praise God in all things. If we are not fulfilling the purpose, we are not meeting the need.
